Parables in Light of THE PARABLE (part 3)

Uncover the divine blueprint for reality as this profound teaching establishes the Parable of the Sower—dubbed "The Parable"—as the foundational groundwork essential for understanding all subsequent parables concerning God's Kingdom. This foundation is the Gospel of the Kingdom, which is the King’s message of good news to His subjects.

While Yahweh’s reign extends over both the unseen and visible domains, the process of the seen world grasping this reality must first begin with the ekklesia, the "called-out ones," who are tasked with demonstrating the King's sovereignty, authority, and power.

The teaching then delves into the astonishing Parable of the Good Shepherd (John 10), which serves as an attempt to teach the familiar truths of the unseen realm in accessible vernacular. Though listeners should have understood the imagery—given the history of notable shepherds like Abel, Moses, and David—they failed to grasp the core truth.

Jesus boldly clarified His identity, declaring: "I am the door of the sheep," the only entrance point into the house of God. He contrasts Himself, the Good Shepherd who willingly lays down His life for the flock, with the dangerous presence of thieves and robbers and the self-interested hireling who flees when the wolf comes because he does not actually own the sheep. The Good Shepherd, conversely, provides abundant life, leads His sheep to pasture, and offers absolute security—no one can snatch them out of His hand or the Father's hand.

Ultimately, this vivid illustration was merely a prelude, setting the stage for Jesus's dramatic, definitive declaration in the temple: "I and my Father are one" This profound statement confirmed the Jews' accusation that He, being a man, was making Himself God. The ultimate work of the believer is thus made clear: to follow the example of our High Priest, Jesus, and help others believe in Him whom Yahweh sent to usher in the Kingdom of God,.
