The Basis of Family
This bible study centers on the theological basis of the family, using the creation account in Genesis as the foundational "pattern" for life and relationships. We connect the building of the Mosaic Tabernacle according to a divine pattern to the idea that the family unit must also adhere to God's original design. A significant portion of the talk involves a detailed word study of the Hebrew terms in Genesis 1 and 2, including "formless and void" (tohu vavohu) and the word "helper" (ezer kenegdo). After a thorough analysis of the Hebrew words "ezer" and "Ke n egdo", we see it's much more than a helper, but coupled with "deliverer", a deliverer from an inability rather than merely an assistant. The bible study ultimately emphasizes that marriage and family are meant to be a type and shadow reflecting the divine relationship between Christ and God, primarily focused on executing kingdom mandates through work, service, and worship.
